If you'd like to commission a portrait of the dog or cat you share your home with, please contact me at [email protected]. It takes up to three months to complete an oil portrait, including two weeks for preparing the painting surface.
For best results, we can work from your photographs, mine if I can travel to you, or a combination. The more images the better, as they help me get to know the animal's personality, colouring, fur texture, and other details. Once I have the images, I can do up to three compositional drawings so that we can finalize the pose. Please note, additional fees apply for more than one animal or complicated backgrounds.
Once we've agreed on the size, the painting surface (canvas or panel), and when you'd like to receive the finished piece, we can decide on the frequency of email updates and the timeline for creating the portrait. Some clients love being very involved in the process, while others prefer to have just one or two updates with JPEG images, and then be presented with the final portrait.
